What a connected app can do

Once connected, the app can see your projects, your tasks, and each task’s notes and subtasks. It can search them by text or by due date, so you can ask things like “What’s overdue?” or “Which client tasks are due Friday?”

Connecting gives read access only. If you also want the app to add, edit, complete or delete tasks, or schedule them on your calendar, turn on editing for that app in Settings → Data → Connected apps. Editing is off until you switch it on, and you choose it separately for each app.

Schedule tasks on your calendar

A connected app can read your AikenDewit calendar, up to 31 days at a time: tasks you’ve put on it as work blocks, time you’ve blocked out, and tasks due at a set time. It sees times in your own time zone, so you can ask “When am I free tomorrow afternoon?”

With editing on, the app can also put tasks on the calendar as work blocks, move a block, or take a task off. A block lasts from 15 minutes to 12 hours within one day. If you don’t give an end time, it uses the task’s time estimate. The app can’t book a block that overlaps another block or blocked time, or one that starts in the past. Scheduling never changes a task’s due date, and you can undo the change.

Your Google or Apple calendar isn’t part of AikenDewit’s calendar. If your AI app can already read that calendar through its own connection, ask it to check there too, and it can plan around your meetings. Those events go from that connection to the app. They don’t pass through AikenDewit.

Plan your day inside AikenDewit

  • “Block two hours tomorrow morning for the client proposal.”
  • “Plan my afternoon around my meetings.”
  • “Take the dentist call off my calendar.”

Your server address

Every app below asks for the same address. Copy it exactly. The same steps, with copy buttons, are in AikenDewit under Settings → Data → Connect an AI app.

Claude

On a Team or Enterprise plan, an Owner adds the connector for your organisation first, and you then connect with your own AikenDewit account. On other plans:

  • On claude.ai or in the Claude desktop app, open Customize → Connectors.
  • Choose Add custom connector and paste the server address. Leave the other settings as they are.
  • Select Add, then Connect. Sign in to AikenDewit and choose Allow.
  • In a chat, use the + button → Connectors to turn AikenDewit on or off for that conversation.

ChatGPT

Your ChatGPT account and workspace settings decide whether you can add a custom server. If you can’t find the option below, ask your workspace admin.

  • On chatgpt.com, open Plugins, select +, then Add custom MCP server.
  • Give it a name, such as AikenDewit, and paste the server address as the public endpoint.
  • Choose OAuth for sign-in, read the warning, and select Create as a plugin.
  • Sign in to AikenDewit and choose Allow. In a new chat, type @ and pick AikenDewit.

Codex

In a terminal, add the server, then sign in. The Codex CLI, the IDE extension and the desktop app share this setup, so you only do it once.

codex mcp add aikendewit --url https://www.aikendewit.com/api/mcp
codex mcp login aikendewit

Claude Code

Add the server for all your projects, then run /mcp inside Claude Code and follow the sign-in link.

claude mcp add --transport http --scope user aikendewit https://www.aikendewit.com/api/mcp

See and disconnect connected apps

Settings → Data → Connected apps lists every app you’ve approved, with its editing switch. Disconnect one and it loses access straight away, starting with its next request.

A connected app sends what it reads from AikenDewit to its own AI service, under that company’s terms. Only connect apps you trust with your task list.

Questions about AI assistants

Does AikenDewit work with ChatGPT?
Yes. Add AikenDewit as a custom MCP server from Plugins in ChatGPT, using https://www.aikendewit.com/api/mcp, then sign in to AikenDewit and allow access. Your account and workspace settings decide whether custom servers are available.
Does AikenDewit work with Claude?
Yes. In Claude, open Customize → Connectors, choose Add custom connector, and paste https://www.aikendewit.com/api/mcp. Then connect and allow access on AikenDewit’s sign-in page.
How do I connect AikenDewit to Codex or Claude Code?
For Codex, run codex mcp add aikendewit --url https://www.aikendewit.com/api/mcp, then codex mcp login aikendewit. For Claude Code, run claude mcp add --transport http --scope user aikendewit https://www.aikendewit.com/api/mcp, then sign in with /mcp.
Can a connected AI app change my tasks?
Not unless you allow it. Connecting gives read access only. Editing, which covers changing tasks and scheduling them, is a separate switch for each app in Settings → Data → Connected apps.
Can ChatGPT or Claude schedule my tasks on a calendar?
Yes, on AikenDewit’s calendar, once you turn on editing for that app. It puts tasks on the calendar as work blocks, refuses overlaps and past times, never changes due dates, and you can undo what it scheduled. If the app can also read your Google or Apple calendar, it can plan around those meetings.
How do I disconnect an AI app?
Open Settings → Data → Connected apps and disconnect it. The app loses access from its next request.
