How today’s Top 3 works

Your full list stays in one place. From it, choose up to three tasks for Today’s top three. It holds three and no more: when it’s full, adding another task asks you which one to replace.

Each day starts with an empty Top 3. If yesterday’s picks weren’t finished, you’ll see how many are left and can carry them over with one click, or choose again.

Open your task list

Work on one task at a time

Start a task and it becomes the one in progress, with a timer running. Starting a different task pauses the first, so only one is ever running. Line up what comes after it in Next tasks, and the first one there is Up next.

Why stop at three

A long list mixes what matters today with everything you might do someday. Capping today at three makes you choose before the day fills up, and makes it clear when today’s work is done. The rest of the list is still there tomorrow.

Help choosing the three

If you can’t decide, ask Aiken, the built-in assistant, which three to focus on. It suggests tasks and explains why, and you make the final pick. Plan My Day can also suggest a short plan that fits the time you have.

Set your three from ChatGPT or Claude

If you connect AikenDewit to ChatGPT, Claude, Codex or Claude Code and turn on editing, you can say “make these my top 3 for today” there too. The same limit of three applies.

Questions about three priorities a day

Is there a to-do app that only lets me pick three priorities a day?
Yes. In AikenDewit, Today’s top three holds at most three tasks. Your other tasks stay on the list, and when the three are full, adding another means choosing one to replace.
What happens to unfinished priorities the next day?
Each day starts with an empty Top 3. Unfinished picks from yesterday are shown with a Carry over button, so you can bring them forward or choose new ones.
Do I need an account?
No. The list and Today’s top three work in your browser without an account. Sign in to sync across devices and keep chatting with Aiken.
Is it free?
Yes, during early access, with no card needed.
